Butterball History
The Butterball is held the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving, the concept being to host the first holiday party of the holiday season and make an appeal to its guests to be generous in a season where the hungry face their largest challenge, the holidays. This year, the Butterball will help feed those in need living with HIV/AIDS, Breast Cancer, MS, ALS and other cancers in our community.
Dan Buettner, world explorer, and thirty Butterball Co-Hosts—mostly community leaders—throw this fabulous ball for over 1,200 people. The event, a black tie with a creative twist, unique silent auction items, featuring experience packages. music & dancing, eye-candy dancers, a cast of "characters" in-sync with the year's theme, celebrity-spotting and much more make this the must-have ticket.
The event has grown substantially in scope and fundraising ability. Funds are raised through sponsorship, ticket sales, host donations, silent auctions and other inventive activities at the Butterball.
